Welcome to the introduction to a new series of blog posts regarding disability, design & accessibility. Since starting my blog I’ve been approached by lots of people in a similar position to me and Mr Wheel Chic Home and have given me nothing but support in my blog.
After a few conversations I realised there are many other interiors obsessed people out there who also have a disability in the home and I want to feature their stories so you can get some more ideas and inspiration for things you might want to do for your own home.
If you don’t have a disability in your home, you might well have elderly relatives that you need to account for or help out, so these posts aren’t just about ‘disability’ – anyone can benefit from these ideas.
My story is here and I think many of you will know over my posts these last 18 months that I’m always looking for inspiration from others in a similar position and I’ve already seen such fabulous ideas on Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest. I’m blown away by some of the inventiveness.
So over the next few weeks and months I’ll be sharing stories from fellow bloggers, Instagrammers, Interior Stylists, Architects and Interior Designers with their stories on how they’ve overcome some of the challenges a disability throws up for the home – and how they keep the home looking fabulous!
If there’s anything you’d like me to feature in future posts please contact me!
