Travels with a Wheelchair – Italy

Travels with a Wheelchair – Italy

If you've seen my post on the The Perfect Wheelchair for travellers and the account of our trip to Iceland you will know how we've used the wheelchair to get to us around, not letting my husband's MS get the better of us. This month we had the opportunity to visit a friend in the Tuscany/Umbria borders of Italy. [...]

This weekend I’m doing my walking half marathon challenge in London. Hopefully the weather will be dry as I plod along the Thames both north and Southbanks.
Happy New Year from us both. It’s been a strange one on Insta, I’ve not posted much due to a huge lack of confidence and my stories have been more exercise related than home related. A shift in focus for me this year and I appreciate you sticking around!
The evolution of our silly tiny narrow hallway. I do wish it were lighter and wider for @mrwobblelegs wheelchair but we have what we have. This has seen a few evolutions. From having a bench for him to sit on and put his shoes on when he was walking, and he could use a level hanging rail - to a coat stand with different height hooks and we removed the bench to make way for the wheelchair. The latest work was done by the lovely chaps @morgandecorators - we decided on the dark colour to try and disguise wheelchair rubber marks at the bottom. We know the door frames will get bashed again, the joy of having a wheelchair in the house, but we love the new look! What do you think?!
Well. We joined #thequeue and it was brilliant. Sad, emotional, respectful, beautiful.
I seem to spend most of my time in this room, working from home most of the time and then all my workout gear including mats and weight are hidden behind the door, saves me moving them in and out of other rooms. I enjoy WFH more than I expected to but now it’s more important as @mrwobblelegs needs more care during the day and whenever I do go to the office I need to find someone to come in and check in on him (for my peace of mind more than anything!).
@mrwobblelegs is not “wheelchair bound”
