How I revamped a lampshade with Chalk Paint

How I revamped a lampshade with Chalk Paint

I'm a fan of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint as you will know from some of my earlier posts.  I've used it very recently to makeover my TV cabinet, chests of drawers, and even beams and bannisters in my friend's cottage.  It's such a versatile paint and I've used it for some other things, including dying [...]

How I restored a vintage side table

How I restored a vintage side table

With the living room makeover finally in full force I was looking for a side table to go down the side of the sofa on Mr Wheel Chic Home's side.  There's not a lot of room there and so a narrow table with somewhere to store the laptop and magazines was something I started hunting [...]

Tips for Framing Wall Art

Tips for Framing Wall Art

Today I wanted to talk about the different ways of customising and framing your artwork, from the DIY to the professional. Most of us I think would rely on high street stores to get a nice cheap frame and mount for a picture.  You can get them in lots of colours and finishes, with mounts [...]

Making gift tags from your Christmas cards

Making gift tags from your Christmas cards

What to do with the pile of leftover Christmas cards once the tree is down and the decorations are packed away?  You can put them in the recycling bin, or take them to a local supermarket who recycles them for charity, or you could recycle them for yourself and make your own unique gift tags [...]

Quick & Easy Wall Art

There's a few easy and inexpensive ways to put some great art on your wall that you can swap out easily as the mood takes you.   You can buy simple canvasses from an art shop and paint it a-la Rothko, or you can make a collage of photos or magazine pictures. Today I want [...]

Well, if you ignore the shabby plants and unpainted deck 😁 you will see the new ramp and path which has now given @mrwobblelegs more freedom to get to work in his man cave in the garden.
A quick reel of our trip to Vienna. It’s reasonably accessible, many restaurants had level access or a ramp, the pedestrianised area was lovely and smooth and the metro was accessible (tip - wheelchairs travel in first and last carriage, a small ramp pops out to help). Lifts at the stations. The beautiful #shönbrunnpalace was accessible via lifts with an attendant and carer goes in free. We did the Winter Pass which also gave us Zoo entry and we saw 🐼 up close which was fabulous. We also took the #wienerriesenrad ferris wheel, again there’s one accessible carriage although not fully flat, but the staff are helpful and offered to assist. Discounted rate for wheelchair user and carer. The #spanishridingschool was also accessible although the ramp to get in and out was not brilliant and ripped the netted basket under the wheelchair.
This was our room on our recent trip to Vienna. This was the Hilton Plaza (not an ad) and the disabled room was ENORMOUS. Some pros and cons:
Walking half marathon (21k) on my own on a cold January day? Check. There was a point around the 17k mark where I didn’t think I would finish but I kept my head down and carried on. It was a great walk taking in some of London’s best views and most importantly for me and @mrwobblelegs I’ve managed to raise over £1500 for @mssocietyuk 🧡I had some tears as I crossed the finish line and there’s a few blisters today but I’m pleased and proud I did it, I didn’t think I would manage but my trainer @evhealthandfitness has helped me get to this place. Thank you all for the donations. Feet firmly up on the sofa today.
This weekend I’m doing my walking half marathon challenge in London. Hopefully the weather will be dry as I plod along the Thames both north and Southbanks.
Happy New Year from us both. It’s been a strange one on Insta, I’ve not posted much due to a huge lack of confidence and my stories have been more exercise related than home related. A shift in focus for me this year and I appreciate you sticking around!
